Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable industrial table.

  1. Position machine: Secure to sturdy worktable using mounting bolts.
  2. Install motor: Attach clutch or servo motor to machine head, connect drive belt.
  3. Connect power: Plug motor into appropriate power outlet (check voltage requirements).
  4. Install needle: Insert needle with flat side facing back, tighten screw.
  5. Fill oil reservoir: Use recommended sewing machine oil.

WARNING! Machine is heavy; use proper lifting equipment or multiple persons. Ensure power is disconnected during setup.

First-Time Operation

Power on machine; perform initial checks.

  1. Check oil level: Ensure reservoir is filled to indicated level.
  2. Thread machine: Follow threading diagram for needle and bobbin.
  3. Test stitch: Use scrap material to test stitch quality and adjust tension.
  4. Adjust stitch length: Set appropriate length for your material.
  5. Practice reverse: Engage reverse lever to ensure proper back-tacking.

CAUTION! Keep hands away from needle area during operation. Wear safety glasses.

Controls and Adjustments

Main controls located on machine head and side.

Machine Head: Handwheel, reverse lever, stitch length regulator, thread tension dials, presser foot lever.

Stitch Length: Rotate regulator dial clockwise to increase length, counterclockwise to decrease.

Thread Tension: Needle tension (upper dial), bobbin tension (spring on bobbin case). Increase tension by turning dial clockwise.

Presser Foot Pressure: Adjust via spring knob on top of machine (if equipped).

Needle Position: Adjust by turning handwheel to raise/lower needle.

Threading & Needle Setup

Correct threading is essential for proper stitch formation.

  1. Raise needle: Turn handwheel to highest position.
  2. Raise presser foot: This releases tension discs.
  3. Follow threading path: From spool pin through guides, tension discs, take-up lever, to needle.
  4. Thread needle: From front to back.
  5. Bobbin threading: Wind bobbin evenly, insert into case with thread following tension spring.
  6. Pull up bobbin thread: Hold needle thread, turn handwheel to lower then raise needle, pull needle thread to bring up bobbin loop.

Tip: Always thread with presser foot raised and needle at highest position.

Stitching Operations

Designed for heavy materials like leather, canvas, and synthetic fabrics.

  1. Position material: Place item on cylinder bed under presser foot.
  2. Lower presser foot: Use lever or knee lift.
  3. Start sewing: Depress foot pedal or engage clutch motor.
  4. Reverse stitching: Engage reverse lever at beginning and end of seam for reinforcement.
  5. Guide material: Let feed mechanism pull material; do not push or pull forcefully.
  6. Stop sewing: Release foot pedal, raise needle to highest position, raise presser foot, remove material.
  7. Trim threads: Use built-in thread cutter or scissors.

WARNING! Never place fingers near needle while machine is running. Use appropriate guards.

Maintenance & Lubrication

Automatic lubrication system requires regular monitoring.

  1. Daily: Check oil level in reservoir, refill as needed with recommended oil.
  2. Weekly: Clean lint and debris from feed dogs, bobbin area, and hook.
  3. Monthly: Check for oil leaks, inspect drive belt tension.
  4. Every 6 months: Change oil in reservoir, clean oil filter.
  5. Annually: Professional service recommended for timing adjustment and thorough cleaning.

CAUTION! Use only recommended sewing machine oil. Do not overfill reservoir.

Care & Cleaning

Disconnect power before cleaning. Remove lint buildup regularly.

  1. External surfaces: Wipe with dry, soft cloth.
  2. Internal mechanisms: Use small brush to remove lint from feed dogs, bobbin case, hook.
  3. Oil system: Check for clogs in oil lines.
  4. Motor and belt: Keep free of dust and debris.

CAUTION! Do not use compressed air as it can force lint into bearings. Never use water or solvents.
