Tip: Always test your stitch settings on a scrap piece of fabric before starting your project.
The machine includes stitches for various applications:
Buttonholes: Select one of the 7 buttonhole stitches. Place the fabric under the buttonhole foot, lower the foot, and press the foot control. The machine will sew the complete buttonhole automatically.
Needle Position: Use the needle position button to move the needle left or right for precise sewing, such as topstitching or edging.
Automatic Needle Threader: Lower the needle to its lowest position. Pull the needle threader lever down towards you, hook the thread onto the guide, and release the lever to pull the thread through the needle eye.
Speed Control Slider: Located on the front panel, this slider allows you to set the maximum sewing speed, ideal for beginners or detailed work.
Drop-in Bobbin: To insert a bobbin, open the cover, place the bobbin with thread unwinding counterclockwise, and pull the thread through the slot. The machine will automatically draw up the bobbin thread when you start sewing.
Free Arm Conversion: Remove the extension table by pulling it towards you to access the free arm for sewing cylindrical items like sleeves and pant legs.
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity.
CAUTION! Never use compressed air to clean the machine as it can force lint deeper into the mechanism.
| Symptom | Possible Cause | Corrective Action |
|---|---|---|
| Machine does not run | Power cord not connected, Power switch off | Check power connections and ensure switch is ON. |
| Needle breaks | Incorrect needle installation, Bent needle, Wrong needle for fabric | Reinstall needle correctly (flat side back). Replace with a new, appropriate needle. |
| Thread bunching underneath | Incorrect bobbin threading, Upper thread not in tension discs | Rethread the bobbin and top thread completely, ensuring the presser foot is up when threading. |
| Skipped stitches | Dull/bent needle, Incorrect needle size/type, Thread tension too tight | Replace needle. Use correct needle (e.g., ballpoint for knits). Adjust tension. |
| Uneven stitches | Dirty feed dogs, Incorrect presser foot pressure (not adjustable on this model) | Clean feed dogs. Ensure you are using the correct presser foot for the stitch. |
| Fabric not feeding | Feed dogs lowered, Stitch length set to 0 | Ensure feed dogs are up (lever usually on back). Increase stitch length. |
| Unusual noise | Lint or thread jammed in bobbin area, Needle hitting presser foot | Turn off, unplug, and clean bobbin area. Ensure needle is correctly installed and foot is attached properly. |
Reset: If the machine behaves erratically, turn it off, wait 10 seconds, and turn it back on.
