Unpacking and Setup

Unpack and inspect all contents. Place on a stable, flat surface.

  1. Remove machine and accessories from packaging.
  2. Attach the wide table by sliding it onto the free arm until it clicks into place.
  3. Plug the foot pedal into the machine and then plug the power cord into a 120V AC outlet.
  4. Install the needle and thread the machine using the automatic needle threader.
  5. Wind and insert the bobbin into the drop-in bobbin case.

WARNING! Machine is heavy; lift with care. Ensure the power is off during setup.

First-Time Operation

Power on the machine; familiarize yourself with basic controls.

  1. Turn the main power switch to ON. The LCD will illuminate.
  2. Select a basic straight stitch using the stitch selection dial.
  3. Place fabric under the presser foot and lower the foot using the lever.
  4. Gently press the foot pedal to start sewing. Use the speed control slider to adjust pace.
  5. Practice on scrap fabric to get a feel for the machine's operation.

CAUTION! Keep fingers away from the needle area while sewing.

Stitch Selection and Settings

  3. Adjust stitch length and width using the corresponding dials if needed.
  4. For buttonholes, select a buttonhole stitch (often #36-42) and follow the automatic process.

Basic Sewing Techniques

WARNING! Always use the correct presser foot for the selected stitch.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Unplug the machine before any maintenance. Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance.

  1. Remove the needle plate screws and lift off the plate to access the bobbin area.
  2. Use the small brush provided to remove lint and thread fragments from the bobbin case and feed dogs.
  3. Wipe the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use solvents or sprays.
  4. Oil the machine only as specified in the manual, using sewing machine oil sparingly.
  5. Replace the needle regularly (after every project or 8 hours of sewing).

CAUTION! Never blow into the machine as moisture can cause damage.
