First-Time Operation

Power on the machine; familiarize yourself with the controls.

  1. Wind and insert the bobbin: Follow the diagram on the machine. Ensure the thread unwinds in the correct direction.
  2. Thread the upper thread: Use the automatic needle threader by pulling down the lever.
  3. Raise the bobbin thread: Hold the upper thread, turn the handwheel toward you to bring up the bobbin thread.
  4. Select a stitch: Turn the stitch selection dial to a basic straight stitch (e.g., #01).
  5. Practice sewing: Place fabric under the presser foot, lower the foot, and gently press the foot controller.

CAUTION! Keep fingers away from the needle area during operation. Always turn the handwheel toward you.
