Basic Operations

Power on machine using switch. Control speed with foot pedal.

Starting to Sew:

  1. Raise presser foot lever and place fabric under foot.
  2. Lower presser foot lever.
  3. Gently press foot pedal to start sewing.
  4. Use reverse lever to reinforce start/end of seam.
  5. Raise presser foot and remove fabric when finished.

Free Arm: Remove accessory storage compartment to access free arm for sewing sleeves and cuffs.

Drop Feed Dogs: Lower feed dogs using lever at back of free arm for darning or free-motion work.

Stitch Selection & Settings

Use stitch selector dial to choose stitch pattern. Adjust length and width as needed.

  1. Straight Stitch: Select "0" on dial. Adjust length (2-3 mm for medium weight fabric).
  2. Zigzag Stitch: Select zigzag symbol. Adjust width for desired zigzag width.
  3. Blind Hem Stitch: Select blind hem symbol. Fold fabric as instructed in manual.
  4. Decorative Stitches: Select appropriate symbol. Use with matching upper/lower threads.
  5. 4-Step Buttonhole: Select step 1 (right side), sew. Select step 2 (front bar), sew. Select step 3 (left side), sew. Select step 4 (front bar), sew.

Tip: Always test stitch settings on scrap fabric before sewing your project.

Threading & Bobbin Winding

Proper threading is essential for good stitch quality.

Upper Threading:

  1. Raise presser foot and needle to highest position.
  2. Place spool on spool pin.
  3. Follow numbered threading path: through thread guide, tension discs, take-up lever, and finally through needle eye from front to back.

Bobbin Winding:

  1. Place empty bobbin on winder spindle.
  2. Thread machine as if for sewing, then pass thread through bobbin winder tension disc.
  3. Wind thread around bobbin a few times manually.
  4. Push bobbin winder to right to engage. Press foot pedal to wind bobbin.
  5. Stop when bobbin is full. Cut thread and push winder back to left.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance.

  1. Daily: Remove lint from bobbin area and feed dogs with brush provided.
  2. Weekly: Oil machine as per manual instructions (use sewing machine oil only).
  3. Needle: Replace bent or dull needles immediately.
  4. Exterior: Wipe with soft, dry cloth. Do not use solvents or abrasives.
