Setup & Installation

Unpack the machine and set it up on a stable, flat surface.

  2. Connect power: Plug foot pedal into machine, then plug power cord into wall outlet (120V).
  3. Wind bobbin: Place thread spool on pin, guide thread through bobbin winder tension, place empty bobbin on winder shaft, engage winder, press foot pedal.
  4. Insert bobbin: Open bobbin cover, drop in bobbin with thread running counterclockwise, pull thread through slot.
  5. Thread upper thread: Raise presser foot, follow numbered threading path on machine, thread through needle from front to back.
  6. Draw up bobbin thread: Hold upper thread, turn handwheel toward you to lower and raise needle, pull loop to bring up bobbin thread.

CAUTION! Keep fingers away from moving parts, especially the needle.

Basic Sewing Operations

Follow these steps to begin sewing.

  1. Power On: Turn power switch to "I".
  2. Select Stitch: Turn stitch selection dial to desired pattern (e.g., straight stitch).
  3. Adjust Settings: Set stitch length and width as needed.
  4. Position Fabric: Lower presser foot lever. Place fabric under presser foot, lower needle into fabric using handwheel.
  5. Start Sewing: Gently press foot pedal to start. Guide fabric gently; do not push or pull.
  6. Reverse: Hold reverse lever to sew a few stitches backward at start and end of seam for reinforcement.
  7. Finish: Raise needle to highest position, raise presser foot, remove fabric, and cut threads using thread cutter.

Tip: Practice on scrap fabric to adjust tension and stitch settings.

Stitch Selection & Settings

Use the dials and controls to customize your sewing.

Stitch Selection Dial: Turn to select from 14 stitches (icons shown on dial).

Stitch Length Dial: 0 for bobbin winding, 1-4 for sewing (higher number = longer stitch).

Stitch Width Dial: Adjusts width of zigzag and other wide stitches (0-5 mm). For straight stitch, set to 0.

Reverse Sewing Lever: Hold down to sew in reverse.

Drop Feed Lever: Located near free arm. Push to lower feed dogs for darning or free-motion work.

Buttonhole Foot Attachment: Use buttonhole foot and follow 4-step process marked on stitch selection dial.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance.

  1. Unplug Machine: Always disconnect power before cleaning.
  2. Clean Lint: Remove bobbin cover and use brush to clean lint from bobbin area and feed dogs.
  3. Oil Machine: Apply one drop of sewing machine oil to hook race and other moving parts as indicated in manual (do not over-oil).
  4. Needle Replacement: Loosen needle clamp screw, remove old needle, insert new needle with flat side toward back, tighten screw.
  5. External Cleaning: Wipe exterior with soft, dry cloth.

CAUTION! Never use compressed air to clean; it can force lint deeper. Do not immerse machine in water.
