Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect all contents. Place on a sturdy, flat surface.

  1. Attach the embroidery unit: Align and slide into position until it clicks.
  2. Connect the foot controller: Plug into the designated port on the machine.
  3. Plug into AC power: Use the provided power cord and connect to a 120V outlet.
  4. Install the needle: Loosen the needle clamp screw, insert needle with flat side to the back, tighten.
  5. Wind and insert the bobbin: Follow the threading diagram on the machine.

WARNING! Ensure the machine is turned off and unplugged during setup. Keep fingers clear of moving parts.

First-Time Operation

  1. Basic Sewing: Select stitch, place fabric, lower presser foot, and press START/STOP or use foot controller.

WARNING! Never pull or push fabric forcefully; let the feed dogs move it. Keep hands away from the needle and embroidery hoop during operation.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Unplug the machine before any maintenance.

  1. Cleaning the race hook and feed dogs: Use the small brush provided to remove lint and dust.
  2. Oiling: Apply a drop of sewing machine oil to the designated points as shown in the manual (typically after every 8-10 hours of use).
  3. Needle Replacement: Replace bent or dull needles immediately.
  4. Cover the machine when not in use to prevent dust accumulation.

CAUTION! Use only Brother-recommended needles, bobbins, and oil. Do not use compressed air, which can force lint deeper into the mechanism.
