Unpacking and Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable table.

  1. Remove all packaging materials and accessories.
  2. Attach the free arm: Slide the flat bed accessory into position until it clicks.
  3. Connect foot pedal: Plug into port on right side of machine.
  4. Connect power: Plug power cord into machine and then into 120V AC outlet.
  5. Install needle: Loosen needle clamp screw, insert needle with flat side to back, tighten screw.

WARNING! Keep fingers away from needle area during setup and operation. Ensure machine is unplugged during needle installation.

First-Time Operation

Power on machine; follow steps for threading and bobbin winding.

  1. Wind bobbin: Place thread on spool pin, guide through bobbin winding tension, place bobbin on winder, push to right, press foot pedal.
  2. Insert bobbin: Open cover, drop bobbin into case with thread clockwise, pull thread through slot.
  3. Thread upper thread: Use built-in threader; follow numbered path on machine.
  4. Draw up bobbin thread: Hold upper thread, turn handwheel toward you to bring up bobbin thread.
  5. Select stitch: Turn stitch selection dial to desired pattern.

CAUTION! Always turn handwheel toward you (counterclockwise) to avoid timing issues.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Unplug before cleaning. Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance.

  1. Cleaning: Remove needle plate screws, lift plate, use brush to remove lint from feed dogs and bobbin area.
  2. Oiling: Apply one drop of sewing machine oil to hook race and moving parts as per manual (do not over-oil).
  3. Needle replacement: Replace bent or dull needles immediately.
  4. Cover: Use dust cover when not in use.

CAUTION! Do not use compressed air; it can force lint deeper. Use only recommended sewing machine oil.
