Unpacking and Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable table.

  1. Remove machine from box: Lift by carrying handle, not by free arm.
  2. Attach foot pedal: Connect pedal cord to machine port.
  3. Connect power: Plug power cord into machine, then into wall outlet.
  4. Install needle: Loosen needle clamp screw, insert needle flat side back, tighten.
  5. Wind bobbin: Follow bobbin winding diagram in manual.

WARNING! Machine is heavy; use both hands when lifting. Ensure table is sturdy.

First-Time Operation

Power on machine; LCD will illuminate.

  1. Thread machine: Follow numbered threading path; use automatic needle threader.
  2. Insert bobbin: Drop bobbin into case with thread clockwise; pull thread under guide.
  3. Select stitch: Turn stitch selection dial or press stitch buttons.
  4. Adjust settings: Use stitch length/width buttons to customize.
  5. Test sew: Place fabric under presser foot, lower foot, press pedal gently.

Stitch Selection and Settings

Select from utility, decorative, and quilting stitches.

  1. Turn stitch selection dial to desired number (see stitch chart).
  2. Press stitch length button to adjust (shorter for finer fabrics, longer for basting).
  3. Press stitch width button to adjust (wider for zigzag, narrow for straight stitch).
  4. For buttonholes: Select buttonhole stitch, attach buttonhole foot, place fabric, start sewing.
  5. Use reverse button to reinforce beginning/end of seam.

Tip: Always test stitch on scrap fabric before sewing project.

Threading and Bobbin

Proper threading ensures smooth operation.

  1. Raise presser foot and needle to highest position.
  2. Place spool on holder, follow threading path numbers 1-6.
  3. Use automatic needle threader: Lower lever, hook thread, release lever.
  4. Bobbin winding: Place spool on bobbin winder, thread through guide, wind until full.
  5. Insert bobbin: Drop into case, pull thread through slot, under tension spring.
  6. Bring bobbin thread up: Hold needle thread, turn handwheel toward you.

WARNING! Ensure machine is off when threading. Do not force dials.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Unplug before maintenance. Clean lint regularly.

  1. Remove needle plate: Use screwdriver to loosen screws, lift plate.
  2. Clean feed dogs and bobbin area: Use small brush to remove lint.
  3. Oil sparingly: Use only sewing machine oil on designated points (see diagram).
  4. Replace needle: After every project or if dull/bent.
  5. Cover machine when not in use to prevent dust.

CAUTION! Do not use compressed air; it can force lint deeper.
