Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect all contents. Place on a stable, flat surface.

  1. Remove all packaging materials and protective covers.
  2. Attach the wide extension table to the free arm until it clicks into place.
  3. Plug the foot pedal into the machine, then plug the power cord into a 120V AC outlet.
  4. Install the needle: Loosen the needle clamp screw, insert needle with flat side to the back, tighten screw.
  5. Wind and insert the bobbin: Follow the threading diagram on the machine.
  6. Thread the upper thread: Use the automatic needle threader for ease.

WARNING! Keep fingers away from moving parts during setup. Ensure the machine is unplugged when installing the needle.

First-Time Operation

Power on the machine; familiarize yourself with basic controls.

  1. Turn on the power switch; the LED light will illuminate.
  2. Select a stitch: Use the stitch selection dial or buttons to choose a basic straight stitch (01).
  3. Place fabric under the presser foot, lower the presser foot lever.
  4. Gently press the foot pedal to start sewing. Use the speed control slider to limit maximum speed.
  5. Practice on scrap fabric to adjust tension and stitch length as needed.
  6. Use the reverse stitch button to reinforce the beginning and end of seams.

CAUTION! Always lower the presser foot before sewing. Never pull fabric forcefully; let the feed dogs move it.

  3. For buttonholes: Select a buttonhole style (61-67), place button in foot, and follow automatic steps.
  4. For zigzag and stretch stitches: Adjust width and length for desired effect.
  5. For quilting: Use the walking foot (included) for even fabric feeding.

Utilize the machine's computerized functions for complex projects.

  1. Automatic Needle Threader: Pull down the lever, hook thread around guide, and release.
  2. Drop-in Bobbin: Transparent cover allows monitoring of bobbin thread.
  3. Speed Control: Slide to set maximum sewing speed for delicate work.
  4. Free Arm: Remove extension table for sewing sleeves and cuffs.

WARNING! Do not force the needle threader; ensure needle is in highest position before use. Use correct presser foot for each technique.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Unplug machine before cleaning. Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance.

  1. Remove lint and dust from bobbin area and feed dogs using the small brush provided.
  2. Oil the machine as per manual instructions (usually minimal oiling required).
  3. Wipe exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquids or aerosols.
  4. Replace needle regularly (after 8-10 hours of sewing or for each new project).
  5. Check belt and motor area periodically for wear (consult service manual).
