Controls and Settings

Main Controls: Stitch selection dial, Stitch length dial (0-4), Stitch width dial (0-5), Reverse sewing lever, Presser foot pressure dial (1-4).

Stitch Selection: Turn dial to desired stitch number (refer to stitch chart on machine). Length/Width: Adjust for fabric type; lower numbers for shorter/narrower stitches. Tension: Default setting (4) works for most fabrics; adjust if stitches loop or puckering occurs. Presser Feet: Snap-on system; use appropriate foot for stitch type (zigzag foot, buttonhole foot, zipper foot included).

Basic Sewing Operations

Straight Stitch: Select stitch #1; adjust length as needed. Zigzag Stitch: Select stitch #3; adjust width for seam finishing. Blind Hem: Use stitch #5 with blind hem foot. Stretch Stitches: Use stitches #8-10 for knits.

  1. Always test stitch on fabric scrap first.
  2. Match needle and thread to fabric weight.
  3. Use correct presser foot for the stitch.
  4. Keep fabric edges aligned with seam guide on needle plate.

Tip: For even feeding, let the machine pull the fabric; your hands only guide.

Stitch Selection & Buttonholes

Refer to stitch chart on machine for recommended uses.

  1. 4-Step Buttonhole:
    • Mark buttonhole position on fabric.
    • Attach buttonhole foot; select stitch #20.
    • Step 1: Sew left side (forward).
    • Step 2: Sew bottom bar (zigzag).
    • Step 3: Sew right side (forward).
    • Step 4: Sew top bar (zigzag).
  2. Use seam ripper to open buttonhole after sewing.

WARNING! Always practice buttonhole on scrap fabric first. Ensure fabric is stabilized if lightweight.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Unplug machine before any maintenance.

  1. Cleaning: Remove needle plate screws; use brush to remove lint from bobbin area and feed dogs.
  2. Oiling: Apply 1 drop of sewing machine oil to hook race and moving parts as per diagram (do not over-oil).
  3. Needle: Replace bent or dull needles immediately.
  4. Storage: Cover machine when not in use; store in dry area.
