Unpacking and Setup

Carefully unpack all components and place the machine on a stable, flat surface.

  1. Remove all packaging materials from the sewing machine and accessories.
  2. Place the machine on a sturdy table or sewing cabinet.
  3. Connect the foot pedal to the machine's port on the right side.
  4. Plug the power cord into the machine and then into a standard 120V AC outlet.
  5. Install the needle and thread the machine following the diagram in the manual.
  6. Wind and insert the bobbin into the drop-in bobbin case.

WARNING! Keep fingers away from the needle area during setup and operation. Ensure the machine is unplugged when threading or changing accessories.

Getting Started

Power on the machine; familiarize yourself with the basic controls.

Basic Sewing Operations

  2. Lower Presser Foot: Position fabric under foot, lower lever.

  5. Finish Seam: Reverse stitch, raise presser foot, and cut threads.

Tip: Always start with a new needle for each major project. Dull needles can cause skipped stitches and fabric damage.

Advanced Stitches and Techniques

Supports decorative stitches, buttonholes, and stretch stitches for knits.

  1. Buttonhole: Attach buttonhole foot, select stitch #26, place fabric, and follow automatic steps.
  2. Blind Hem: Use stitch #8 with blind hem foot for nearly invisible hems.
  3. Decorative Stitches: Select stitches 10-25 for embellishments; practice on scrap fabric first.
  4. Stretch Stitches: Use stitches 5-7 for sewing elastic fabrics without breaking threads.

  6. Free Arm Sewing: Remove accessory tray to access free arm for sleeves and cuffs.

WARNING! Always turn the handwheel toward you to avoid timing issues. Never force the handwheel.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Unplug machine before cleaning. Regularly clean lint and dust from bobbin area and feed dogs.

  1. Remove needle plate screws and lift plate to access bobbin area.
  2. Use small brush to remove lint and thread bits.
  3. Wipe exterior with soft, dry cloth.
  4. Oil machine as directed in manual (specific points only).
  5. Replace needle regularly (every 8-10 hours of sewing).
