Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on a stable, flat surface.

  1. Remove all packaging materials and protective covers.
  2. Attach the foot controller to the machine and plug into power outlet.
  3. Install the needle: Loosen needle clamp screw, insert needle with flat side to the back, tighten screw.
  4. Wind the bobbin: Place thread on spool pin, guide through bobbin winder tension, place bobbin on winder shaft, push shaft to right, press foot controller.
  5. Insert bobbin: Open bobbin cover, drop bobbin in with thread unwinding counterclockwise, pull thread through slot and under tension spring.

WARNING! Keep fingers away from moving parts during setup. Ensure machine is unplugged when installing needle or bobbin.

First-Time Operation

Plug in power cord and foot controller. Turn power switch to "I".

  1. Thread the upper thread: Follow numbered guides from spool to needle using automatic needle threader.
  2. Raise presser foot and pull both threads under foot toward back.
  3. Select stitch: Turn stitch selection dial to desired pattern (e.g., straight stitch).
  4. Adjust stitch length and width as needed.
  5. Place fabric under presser foot, lower presser foot lever, and gently press foot controller to begin sewing.

CAUTION! Always start with scrap fabric to test settings. Keep hands clear of needle area while sewing.

Stitch Selection: Turn dial to select from 10 patterns (straight, zigzag, blind hem, stretch stitches, etc.).

Stitch Length Dial: Adjusts from 0 (darning) to 4mm (basting). Normal sewing: 2.0-2.5mm.

Stitch Width Dial: Adjusts zigzag width from 0 to 5mm. For straight stitch, set to 0.

Reverse Sewing Lever: Hold down to sew in reverse for reinforcement.

Presser Foot Pressure Dial: Adjust for lightweight (lower number) or heavyweight (higher number) fabrics.

Threading the Machine

Proper threading is essential for good stitch quality.

  1. Raise presser foot and needle to highest position.
  2. Place thread spool on spool pin.
  3. Follow threading guides marked on machine: through thread guide, tension discs, take-up lever, and final thread guide.
  4. Use automatic needle threader: Push lever down, hook thread onto hook, release lever to pull thread through needle eye.
  5. Pull about 4 inches of thread toward back under presser foot.

Tip: Always thread with presser foot raised to open tension discs.

Basic Sewing Operations

Supports various sewing techniques for garments and crafts.

  1. Straight Stitch: Select straight stitch pattern. Adjust length as needed.
  2. Zigzag Stitch: Select zigzag pattern. Adjust width for finishing edges or decorative sewing.
  3. Buttonhole: Select buttonhole stitch (step 1). Mark buttonhole on fabric. Follow 4 steps: left side, front bar tack, right side, rear bar tack.
  4. Blind Hem: Use blind hem stitch and blind hem foot for nearly invisible hems.
  5. Stretch Stitches: Use stretch stitches for knit fabrics to prevent popped seams.
  6. Free Arm Sewing: Remove accessory tray to access free arm for sleeves and cuffs.

WARNING! Do not pull fabric while sewing; let feed dogs move it. Always use appropriate presser foot for each stitch.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Unplug machine before maintenance. Regular cleaning prevents lint buildup.

  1. Remove needle plate screws and lift off plate.
  2. Use small brush to remove lint from feed dogs and bobbin area.
  3. Clean race hook and surrounding areas.
  4. Apply a drop of sewing machine oil to race hook and moving parts as per manual instructions.
  5. Replace needle regularly (after 8-10 hours of sewing or if damaged).

CAUTION! Use only sewing machine oil. Do not use household oils. Avoid getting oil on rubber parts.
