Unpack and inspect contents. Place on a stable, flat surface.

  1. Remove all packaging materials and protective covers.
  2. Attach the foot pedal: Plug the connector into the port on the right side of the machine.
  3. Connect to power: Plug the power cord into the machine and then into a standard 120V AC outlet.
  4. Install the needle: Loosen the needle clamp screw, insert the needle with the flat side facing back, and tighten the screw.
  5. Attach the presser foot: Raise the presser foot lever, align the foot with the bar, and lower the lever to lock.

WARNING! Keep fingers away from moving parts, especially the needle area. Always unplug the machine when not in use or when performing maintenance.

First-Time Operation

Power on the machine; the light should illuminate. Follow these steps to begin sewing.

  1. Wind the bobbin: Place thread on spool pin, guide through bobbin winder tension disc, and wind onto bobbin.
  2. Insert the bobbin: Open the bobbin cover, place bobbin with thread unwinding clockwise, and pull thread through the slot.
  3. Thread the upper thread: Follow the numbered threading path on the machine, ending with the built-in needle threader.
  4. Raise the bobbin thread: Hold the upper thread, turn the handwheel toward you to lower and raise the needle, pulling up the bobbin thread loop.
  5. Select a stitch: Turn the stitch selection dial to your desired pattern (e.g., straight stitch).
  6. Test sew: Place fabric under the presser foot, lower the foot, and gently press the foot pedal to start sewing.

CAUTION! Always start with the needle in the highest position. Do not force the fabric; let the feed dogs move it.

Main controls are located on the front and right side of the machine.

Stitch Length Dial: Controls the distance between stitches. Higher numbers for longer stitches (basting), lower for shorter stitches (fine fabrics).

Stitch Width Dial: Adjusts the width of zigzag and decorative stitches. Set to 0 for straight stitch.

Reverse Stitch Lever: Press and hold to sew in reverse, securing the seam.

Handwheel: Manually raises and lowers the needle. Always turn toward you (counter-clockwise).

Presser Foot Lever: Raises and lowers the presser foot.

Drop Feed Lever: Located at the rear, lowers the feed dogs for free-motion work.

Stitch Selection & Applications

Select the appropriate stitch and settings for your fabric and project.

  1. Straight Stitch (Pattern 1): For general sewing, seams, and topstitching. Use medium length (2.5) for most fabrics.
  2. Zigzag Stitch (Pattern 2-4): For finishing edges, sewing stretch fabrics, and appliqué. Adjust width as needed.
  3. Blind Hem Stitch (Pattern 5): For nearly invisible hems on garments. Use with the blind hem foot.
  4. Stretch Stitches (Pattern 6-7): For knits and elastic fabrics to prevent popped seams.
  5. Decorative Stitches (Pattern 8-10): For embellishments on home decor and clothing.
  6. Buttonhole (Pattern 0): One-step automatic buttonhole. Use the buttonhole foot and follow the markings.

Tip: Always test stitch settings on a scrap of your project fabric first.

Threading & Bobbin Winding

Correct threading is essential for proper stitch formation.

Winding the Bobbin:

  1. Place the spool of thread on the spool pin.
  2. Guide the thread through the bobbin winding tension disc on the top.
  3. Place an empty bobbin on the winder shaft, push to the right.
  4. Hold the thread end, press the foot pedal to wind. Stop when full.
  5. Cut the thread and push the winder shaft back to the left.

Threading the Upper Thread:

  1. Raise the presser foot and needle to highest position.
  2. Follow the numbered path: from spool pin, through thread guides, down to tension discs, up and around the take-up lever, down to the needle.
  3. Use the built-in needle threader: Lower the lever, hook the thread, and pull back through the needle eye.

WARNING! Ensure the presser foot is raised when threading to open the tension discs.

Care & Maintenance

Regular cleaning and lubrication ensure long-lasting performance.

  1. Cleaning: Unplug the machine. Remove the needle plate and bobbin case. Use the small brush to remove lint and dust from the feed dogs, bobbin area, and hook race. Replace parts.
  2. Oiling: Apply one drop of sewing machine oil to the hook race and other moving parts as indicated in the manual. Wipe away excess oil.
  3. Needle Replacement: Replace the needle after every 8-10 hours of sewing or with each new project. A dull or bent needle can cause skipped stitches and fabric damage.
  4. Storage: Cover the machine when not in use to prevent dust accumulation. Store in a dry place.

CAUTION! Always unplug the machine before cleaning or maintenance. Use only recommended sewing machine oil.
