Unpacking and Setup

Unpack all components and inspect for damage. Place on a stable, flat surface.

  1. Remove machine from packaging: Lift by the carrying handle, not by the free arm.
  2. Attach power cord: Plug into machine port and then into a standard 120V AC outlet.
  3. Connect foot controller: Plug into designated port on machine.
  4. Install needle: Loosen needle clamp screw, insert needle with flat side facing back, tighten screw.
  5. Wind and insert bobbin: Follow bobbin winding instructions; place bobbin in drop-in case.
  6. Thread machine: Follow threading path indicated on machine; use automatic needle threader.

WARNING! Keep fingers away from moving parts, especially the needle area. Unplug machine when not in use or when changing accessories.

First-Time Operation

Plug in power cord and foot controller. Turn power switch ON.

  1. Select a stitch: Turn stitch selection dial to desired pattern (e.g., straight stitch).
  2. Adjust stitch length/width: Set dials as needed (default for straight stitch: length 2.5, width 0).
  3. Place fabric: Lower presser foot lever.

  5. Reverse stitching: Hold reverse lever to sew backwards for reinforcement.
  6. Finish: Raise needle to highest position, raise presser foot, remove fabric, and cut threads.

CAUTION! Always raise the needle before removing fabric to avoid needle breakage.

  5. Blind Hem: Fold fabric for hem, select stitch 32, use blind hem foot. Stitch catches only a few threads of main fabric.

WARNING! Do not pull fabric while sewing; let the feed dogs move it. Keep fingers clear of needle.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance.

  1. Unplug machine before any maintenance.
  2. Clean lint and dust: Remove needle plate screws, lift plate, use small brush to clean feed dogs and bobbin area.
  3. Oil machine: Apply one drop of sewing machine oil to hook race and moving parts as indicated in manual (do not over-oil).
  4. Needle replacement: Replace needle regularly (every 8-10 hours of sewing) or if bent/dull.
  5. Cover machine when not in use to prevent dust accumulation.
