  2. Connect Power: Plug the power adapter into the machine and then into a standard 120V AC wall outlet.
  3. Attach the Accessory Tray: Slide the removable accessory tray onto the free arm if not already attached.
  4. Wind and Insert the Bobbin: Follow the illustrated guide in the manual to wind thread onto the bobbin and insert it into the bobbin case.
  5. Thread the Machine: Use the automatic needle threader or follow the numbered threading path printed on the machine.

WARNING! Keep fingers away from moving parts, especially the needle area, during setup and operation. Ensure the machine is unplugged during initial assembly.

First-Time Operation

Plug in the machine and turn on the power switch. Follow these initial steps.

  1. Select a Stitch: Turn the stitch selection dial to a basic straight stitch (usually marked "1").
  2. Raise the Presser Foot: Use the lever at the back to lift the presser foot and place your fabric underneath.
  3. Lower the Presser Foot: Gently lower the presser foot lever to hold the fabric in place.
  4. Start Sewing: Gently press the foot controller to start sewing. Guide the fabric with your hands, letting the feed dogs move it.
  5. Reverse Stitch: Press and hold the reverse lever to sew a few stitches backward at the beginning and end of a seam for reinforcement.

CAUTION! Always turn the handwheel toward you (counter-clockwise) to avoid timing issues. Never pull fabric forcefully; let the machine feed it.

Stitch Selection Dial: Turn to select from 25 stitch patterns (icons and numbers correspond to the stitch chart). Stitch Length Dial: Adjusts from 0 (for darning) to 4 (long basting stitches). Stitch Width Dial: Adjusts zigzag and decorative stitch width (0-5mm). Reverse Lever: Hold down to sew in reverse. Stitch Selection and Settings

Refer to the stitch chart on the machine or manual. For basic sewing:

  1. Straight Stitch: Use for seams, topstitching, and basting. Set width to 0.
  2. Zigzag Stitch: Use for finishing edges, sewing stretch fabrics, or appliqué. Adjust width as needed.
  3. Decorative Stitches: Select pattern using dial. Test on scrap fabric first.
  4. Buttonhole: Select the one-step buttonhole symbol. Place button in the foot's guide; the machine will sew all four sides automatically.

Tip: Always test stitch settings and tension on a scrap of your project fabric before starting.

Basic Sewing Techniques

Follow these steps for common tasks.

  1. Seaming: Use a straight stitch with appropriate length (2.5 is standard). Align fabric edges under the presser foot.
  2. Finishing Edges: Use a zigzag stitch along the raw edge to prevent fraying.
  3. Sewing a Buttonhole: Attach the buttonhole foot, select the buttonhole stitch, and follow the automatic cycle.
  4. Zipper Insertion: Use the zipper foot (included) for greater control when sewing close to the zipper teeth.
  5. Free Arm Sewing: Remove the accessory tray to access the free arm for sewing cuffs, pant legs, and sleeves.

WARNING! Always use the correct needle and foot for the technique. Replace bent or dull needles immediately.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Unplug the machine before any maintenance.

  1. Cleaning the Bobbin Area: Remove the bobbin case and use the small brush to remove lint and thread bits.
  2. Oiling: Refer to the manual for specific oiling points. Use only sewing machine oil sparingly.
  3. Needle Replacement: Loosen the needle clamp screw, remove the old needle, and insert a new one with the flat side facing back. Tighten firmly.
  4. Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the housing with a soft, dry cloth.

CAUTION! Do not use compressed air as it can force lint deeper into the mechanism. Never use household oils or solvents.
