  2. Attach the wide extension table by sliding it into place on the free arm.
  3. Connect the foot pedal to the machine's port.
  4. Plug the power cord into the machine and then into a standard 120V AC outlet.
  5. Install the needle, ensuring the flat side faces the back.

WARNING! Keep fingers away from the needle area during setup and operation. Ensure the machine is unplugged when threading or changing accessories.

First-Time Operation

Power on the machine using the main power switch; the LED light will illuminate.

  1. Wind the bobbin: Place thread on the spool pin, guide it through the bobbin winding tension disc, and wind a bobbin using the bobbin winding function.
  2. Insert the bobbin: Place the wound bobbin into the drop-in bobbin case with the thread running counterclockwise.
  3. Thread the upper thread: Follow the numbered threading path on the machine and use the automatic needle threader.
  4. Select a stitch: Turn the stitch selection dial to your desired stitch pattern.
  5. Practice sewing: Place fabric under the presser foot, lower the foot, and gently press the foot pedal to start sewing.

CAUTION! Always lower the presser foot before sewing. Start sewing at a slow speed to maintain control.

Specifications

Controls and Functions

Access all functions via the control panel and dials on the machine body. Main Power Switch: Turns machine power on/off. Stitch Selection Dial: Selects from 37 stitch patterns. Stitch Length Dial: Adjusts from 0-4 mm. Stitch Width Dial: Adjusts from 0-7 mm. Reverse Stitch Lever: Hold to sew in reverse. Speed Control Slider: Limits maximum sewing speed.

Presser Feet: Quick-change system for attaching different feet (e.g., zigzag foot, buttonhole foot, zipper foot). Automatic Needle Threader Lever: Pull down to thread the needle automatically. Bobbin Winding Spindle & Tension Disc: For winding the bobbin. Handwheel: Manually raises/lowers the needle.

Stitch Selection & Settings

Use the stitch selection dial to choose your pattern. Refer to the stitch chart on the machine.

  1. Turn the dial to align your desired stitch number with the indicator mark.
  2. Adjust stitch length for fabric type (shorter for delicate, longer for basting).
  3. Adjust stitch width for zigzag and decorative stitches.
  4. For buttonholes: Attach the buttonhole foot, select the buttonhole stitch, and the machine will automatically sew a perfectly sized buttonhole.
  5. Test stitches on a scrap of your project fabric before beginning.

Tip: Always match your needle and thread type to your fabric for best results.

Threading & Bobbin Winding

Proper threading is essential for smooth operation.

  1. Bobbin Winding: Place spool on pin, guide thread through tension disc, wind onto bobbin until full, then cut thread.
  2. Inserting Bobbin: Drop bobbin into case with thread unwinding counterclockwise; pull thread through the slot.
  3. Upper Threading: Raise presser foot and needle. Follow numbered path from spool pin, through tension discs, take-up lever, and finally use the automatic needle threader.
  4. Drawing Up Bobbin Thread: Hold the upper thread tail, turn the handwheel toward you to lower and raise the needle, then pull the upper thread to bring the bobbin thread up through the needle plate.

WARNING! Ensure the presser foot is raised when threading the upper thread to allow the thread to seat properly in the tension discs.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Unplug the machine before any maintenance. Regularly clean lint and dust from the bobbin area and feed dogs using the provided brush.

  1. Remove the needle plate and bobbin case to access the bobbin area for thorough cleaning.
  2. Oil the machine only as specified in the manual, using sewing machine oil only.
  3. Replace the needle regularly (after 8-10 hours of sewing or with each new project).
  4. Wipe the exterior with a soft, dry cloth.

CAUTION! Never use compressed air to clean the machine as it can force lint deeper into the mechanism. Do not immerse the machine in water.
